I wish I could put it into words for our couples. Just how good it’s about to get.
Getting Ready for their Colorado Sunrise Mountaintop Elopement
These two started their day before the birds. Hair and Makeup was ready and at their Airbnb at 3:30am. After Stephanie was done getting ready, Stephanie and Chris helped each other get dressed. The sweetest thing happened when Stephanie offered to tie Chris’s tie. Chris had no idea that Stephanie knew how to do this. She tied it perfectly, and I couldn’t help but think about this incredible new adventure the two of them were about to embark on. I wish I could tell all of my couples how good their life is going to get. They met their person, but the real stuff hasn’t even begun yet for them. Marriage is such a gift, and I just love spending wedding days with our couples.
Hiking to the Top for Sunrise
After the two of them were ready, we all headed out to the mountains in the dark. The sun was just starting to rise the closer we got to the mountain pass, and it was beginning to be daylight. The two of them grabbed their jackets, and parked it right next to the glowing mountain to write their vows. We got so lucky with this stunning alpenglow backdrop.
After the couple was finished writing their vows, we started hiking around the mountain pass and taking in the breathtaking views. We love the spontaneity elopements offer. We stopped along the hike to take gorgeous portraits of the two in the scenery surrounding them. Although it was a little chilly before the sun came up, it’s accurate to say that the weddings gods were good to Stephanie and Chris. No wind, warm sun shine, and not too many clouds which gave us quite the show for alpenglow.
A Self Solemnizing Colorado Elopement Ceremony
We found the perfect trail in the shade for the two of them to read their vows to one another and to have their self solemnizing elopement ceremony. They were right behind a rocky hillside, with evergreen trees looking down at them. As the sun rose, it peeked through the branches and needles on the evergreens, and made for some incredible photos. The nature lover in me was bursting with happiness and excitement the whole time while documenting their ceremony. After their private vows, and ring exchange, these two were ready to celebrate!
Celebrating Marriage with Donuts and Champagne
They chose to make their elopement special by having champagne and donuts from their favorite donut shop, American Donut, in Denver to celebrate. We found the perfect alcove in the evergreens to lay out a picnic and let these two bask in their wedding day bliss. 🍩 🥂
Congratulations to this sweet couple. Your Colorado sunrise mountaintop elopement was magical. ✨
