Alex + Dan’s Two Day Aspen Elopement
Taking place near Aspen, Colorado, I had the incredible opportunity to capture a two-day adventure wedding that transcended the ordinary. Join me as I take you through the breathtaking journey of Alex + Dan’s Aspen elopement, where love met nature in the most extraordinary way.
Day 1: A Journey to Remember
I met Alex and Dan at a parking lot near the start of the 4×4 road where we all jumped into Dan’s 4×4 Toyota Tacoma. The trek we were about to embark on was not for the faint of heart. The journey tested our vehicles, patience, and endurance, with multiple river crossings along the way. It took us a little over an hour to drive the Colorado 4×4 road to the start of the trailhead, and then we hiked ~1,500 ft of elevation gain over a mile and a half. As the elevation gained, so did the anticipation for the magical moments that awaited. This hard work, both by vehicle and leg work guaranteed the privacy for Dan and Alex though. Once we got to the alpine lake we were greeted with big mountain views, a sparkling blue alpine lake, privacy, and clear blue skies. The couple enjoyed a first look, exchanged private vows against the breathtaking mountain backdrop, and then we changed back into our hiking clothes to get back to the trailhead before dark.
Day 2: Mountainous Aspen Elopement Ceremony Surrounded by Friends and Family
For the second day, the couple chose another 4×4 accessible location, perched on a mountain with panoramic views of Aspen’s majestic landscape. This spot held immense significance for the bride, as it was a place she had called home for a part of her life. The memories woven into the mountainside made it the perfect setting for their more traditional ceremony where they were surrounded by their closest friends and family.
