So picture this: it’s the crack of dawn in Moab, Utah, and Max and Lyn are gearing up for the adventure of a lifetime. They’ve traveled all the way from Salt Lake City for their sunrise elopement, and the excitement in the air is palpable. We meet up bright and early, right as the first hints of light start to peek over the horizon. And Moab doesn’t disappoint in the slightest. The sky was painted with the most amazing ombre of yellow and blue, like something straight out of a painting. Some of my favorite sunrises are the ones that are just a straight gradual shift in color. Pinks to yellows, to blues and purples. Before the sun had it’s chance to create shadows on the expansive red landscape sprawled out in front of us, Max and Lyn stood for awhile taking it all in. This day that they had planned on for months was finally here. We were finally here! The landscape was incredible. That golden hour light before the sun finally rises is what dreams are made of.
As the sun starts to rise, casting these incredible shadows on the surrounding canyons, Max and Lyn exchanged vows. It was just the two of them, surrounded by nature’s beauty, making their promises to one another. No production, no witnesses. Just the two of them, and their own words. After the ceremony, we keep it simple with a picnic against the backdrop of the desert. It’s quiet, peaceful, and oh so romantic. They take their time, savoring each moment together as the sun climbs higher in the sky. Once the sun rose and the heat kicked up, we parted ways. So after a few more stolen kisses and one last look at the stunning scenery, it’s time to say goodbye to Moab.
Max and Lyn’s elopement might have been practical in some ways, but let me tell you, it was anything but ordinary. It was a day filled with love, adventure, and the kind of magic you can only find in Moab. Congratulations to Max + Lyn!
