Vail Mountain Wedding – The 10th Vail Wedding
I had the opportunity to second shoot for the wonderful Andrea Stark for a The 10th Vail wedding. It was just a few days before S + J’s wedding and Andrea contacted me asking me to second shoot for her. Her scheduled second shooter fell sick with COVID, and she was in a pickle. With it being the middle of the summer, photographers were mostly booked up and she was having a hard time finding help. Here at In Love and Adventure, we photograph elopements during the week, so I was available to help out with the second shooting for this The 10th Vail Wedding. I’m so glad I took this opportunity. I photographed traditional weddings, just like S + J’s The 10th Vail Wedding for three years before I made the switch to elopements. People ask me all the time why I don’t shoot traditional weddings. And it has nothing to do with not liking traditional weddings. I LOVE traditional weddings SO much. But, I just didn’t love one for me when it came time for Alex and mines big day. Ever since Alex and I eloped, we made it our mission to help couples wanting to escape the traditional wedding day. They aren’t for everyone, and we knew firsthand how that felt. So, even though we only book eloping couples now, I do miss photographing traditional weddings. It was so fun to jump back into it for this The 10th Vail Wedding.
Sydney + Jake Getting Ready for their Vail mountain wedding
Due to the timeline of their day, I was able to be with the bride for a few minutes before heading over to the groom. Sydney and her girls got ready at the Manor Vail Lodge, while Jake and the groomsmen got ready at the Tivoli Lodge. When I first got to the Manor Vail, Sydney was just finishing up getting her makeup done. Divine Beauty Artists did an absolutely amazing job. While the girls poured champagne and enjoyed the morning getting ready before all heading to The 10th Vail, I headed over to document Jake and the groomsmen. After they were all looking sharp AF, Jake got out the Clase Azul and they all toasted to the day of celebrating Sydney and Jake.
Taking the Gondola Up to their Vail mountain wedding
After they were all done getting ready it was time to head up to their venue for their The 10th Vail Wedding. The only way up is to take the gondola!
The 10th Vail First Look
Sydney and Jake’s First Look
Sydney and Jake had their first look at where there is usually a stunning backdrop of the Rockies, but the wildfires from California sent smoke that made it a hazy day. Although the views were lacking, their love and energy were far from it. With tears in both their eyes, Sydney and Jake saw each other for the first time in their wedding attire. It was a beautiful moment.
Sydney’s First Look with Her Father
Sydney and her father held a first look as well, and it was the absolute sweetest.

The 10th Vail Wedding Ceremony
Sydney and Jake held their ceremony right on the deck for their The 10th Vail wedding. Andrea had me focus on the sides to capture pictures of the guests, the family, and Sydney and Jake’s reaction’s during their vows. Alli with Alli J Creative did a fantastic job with the floral arch, and all the floral details for the ceremony. They were some of the most beautiful florals i’ve ever seen at a wedding. This 10th at Vail wedding ceremony was absolute perfection.
