Allie and Zach’s Elopement Story
Picture this: the beautiful scenery of Lake Dillon, a private Airbnb, a secluded hike on a mountain pass to exchange private vows, a gorgeous sunset, a private chef, a hand fasting ceremony, and… free Slurpees? That’s right, Allie and Zach chose Sapphire Point Overlook for their adventure wedding with family, and they picked the date of 7/11 so they could take advantage of 7 Eleven’s (the convenience store) free slurpee promotion. Their choice to take advantage of free Slurpees on their wedding day set the tone for a day filled with laughter, adventure, and love.
Deciding Where to Elope
When Allie called me, she and Zach were still unsure of when and where they wanted to elope. But after discussing their preferences and priorities, we settled on Sapphire Point Overlook as the perfect spot for their small, intimate wedding. The Airbnb where they stayed had enough space to accommodate everyone, and the views of Dillon, CO from the back deck were breathtaking.
Making the Decision to Elope in Colorado
Allie and Zach had always known that they wanted a small, intimate wedding that wouldn’t break the bank. They considered having a traditional wedding in Michigan, but after seeing the prices and booking timelines, they realized an elopement in Colorado was more their speed. So, they did what any adventurous couple would do: they decided to elope in Colorado! Not only did it offer a stunning location for their private ceremony, but it allowed them to spend quality time with their closest friends and family. And, of course, the added bonus of free Slurpees on their wedding day sealed the deal. It turned out to be the perfect decision for them.
Allie + Zach’s Elopement Day
Allie and Zach’s wedding day was nothing short of an adventure. Allie got ready with her best girlfriends, who made sure she looked like a queen on her big day. They sang and joked around while I captured all the fun. When it was time for the ceremony, we all headed to Sapphire Point Overlook, which provided a breathtaking view of Lake Dillon and the surrounding mountains. The scenery was nothing short of stunning, and the beauty of the location added to the magic of the ceremony. The couple incorporated a hand fasting, which was a beautiful and unique touch. After the ceremony, we all took a hike to a secluded spot so the couple could read their private vows to each other for their own elopement ceremony. Tears were shed, laughs were had, and it was the perfect intimate moment before the couple headed off to spend the evening celebrating with their friends and family. But before we headed back to the Airbnb, let’s not forget the free Slurpees! Allie and Zach picked the date of 7/11 for their wedding day so they could take advantage of the convenience store’s promotion. It was a fun and unique way to start their wedding day and a great excuse to go on a Slurpee run 😜 🥤 . When we got back to the Airbnb, Allie and Zach had an outfit change, and the party and celebration began! The evening ended with a private chef cooking dinner for the couple and their family, where they gathered around to give toasts and share memories. As the sun set, we grabbed Allie and Zach and headed outside to capture some beautiful sunset pictures. It was a beautiful and memorable day that captured the essence of their love and sense of adventure.
