When Larissa and Hector reached out to us just 4 months before their Colorado elopement with family, they made it clear that they were ready to tie the knot and they weren’t messing around. “We just can’t wait to be married and we would love just something super small with the people we love most.” And that’s exactly what they got.
As the couple exchanged vows next to a picturesque lake in Breckenridge, CO, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the love of their closest friends and family, it became clear that this was more than just a wedding – it was a celebration of adventure and true love, and it’s exactly why we love being adventure elopement photographers.
You see, Larissa and Hector met in high school and have been adventuring together ever since. So when they decided to get hitched, they knew they wanted something small, in nature, and with the people they loved most – a Colorado elopement with family. But, being from Texas, they had no idea where to hold their Colorado elopement with family. Enter us, the wedding photography dream team, who, as locals, knew just the spot.
We met the couple before sunrise in the parking lot of the lake that we helped them pick out for their Colorado elopement with family ceremony. We spent some quality time with just the two of them before their family arrived for the lakeside elopement. We hiked around the lake, taking in the views and enjoying how the scenery was reflecting off the smooth water surface. We needed to keep warm, so we kept hiking along the lake until it was time to hold their Colorado elopement with family ceremony.
As their family started to show up, we passed out hand warmers (because who doesn’t love a good hand warmer?) All the family members were slowly taking in the mountain views in the crisp autumn morning air while waiting for the Colorado elopement with family to begin. They all traveled from Texas! It was truly heartwarming to see our couple with such supportive families for their decision to elope.
Their ceremony was short and sweet, right on the edge of the lake. After the ceremony, we took time to capture family photos with everyone who attended. Then we finished our hike around the lake, and the couple wanted to go to another hike down the road, so once we were done, we hopped in our cars and headed to the next location!
We did a short hike for the second part of their day. The mountain views were incredible, and the sun finally came out to warm us up! During our hike, Hector and Alex pulled out their drones and they took some footage of the area. This was our first elopement where we took a bit of video! Alex even put together a whole wedding video for these two and it turned out AWESOME!
We are so happy for these two. We think that the way someone gets married shows a lot about their character and we can’t say enough great things about these two. So, congratulations to the happy couple and their adventure-filled love story!
