A celestial themed elopement is one of the most perfect ways to start off a marriage. The bride and groom, Cheyanna and Brandon, decided to combine their love for Colorado with the stars by getting married in Fairplay. This elopement was a special one. The couple wanted to get married outside of Denver, but didn’t want the hassle of driving back into town after their wedding. They found an Airbnb in Fairplay, CO, and decided that they would have a celestial themed wedding. With snow on the ground and mountains towering above them, they stood next to a frozen lake to say their private vows. The groom wore a traditional black suit while the bride donned an ivory lace gown with floral accents. They exchanged vows right as the sun was setting before being pronounced husband and wife!
Elopements are all about doing whatever it is that you want to do for your wedding day. Throw out the social norm of checking off the traditional wedding day to-do’s, and plan a day all around having your best day, and don’t let anything overshadow the commitment you’re making to your partner. That’s exactly what this sweet couple did. Cheyanna and Brandon planned their day around what they knew would make them happiest. Spending a quiet stress-free morning sleeping in, making morning coffee, taking in the views from their Airbnb, spending time with one another, and a short intimate ceremony with the mountain views and sunset in the background. They rented out this adorable A-frame cabin in Fairplay, Colorado that sits on acres of land and has views of the mountains from the back porch.
Once their morning was coming to an end, and it was time to start getting ready for their elopement, that’s when we showed up. We showed up right as Cheyanna was finishing getting her hair and make-up done. The two of them really wanted to capture their stay at the Airbnb as well as their elopement, so we decided to take a few cozy photos of the sweet couple before they changed into their wedding attire. We love being present during the getting ready portion of our couple’s big day. We love telling a story with our photographs, and there’s nothing better than being able to tell a couple’s full story of their entire day.

Beautiful florals by the amazing Black and Blossomed. Black and Blossomed are no longer taking custom wedding floral orders, which literally breaks my heart because I love their designs so much. They now do pop-up floral stands all over Boulder. I’ve had the opportunity to work with this amazingly talented team a few times and they knock it out of the park every. single. time.
